1. Clothing production: increased in the first half of the year and decreased in the first month

From January to June of 2021, the clothing output was 11.323 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 17.92%. In June, the clothing output was 2.248 billion pieces, up 11.23% month on month and 1.62% lower than the same period last year.

On the whole, it is not surprising that the clothing production in the first half of the year was stronger than that in the epidemic year, but there was still a gap compared with that in 16 / 17. Considering that after May, the textile market has turned weak, coupled with the overseas epidemic and sea air transport congestion, clothing as an optional consumption, the huge inventory is still digesting slowly, and the clothing output growth is gradually slowing down, which is even lower than that in the same period of previous years.

2. Clothing retail: the seasonal demand just ended, and the year-on-year growth rate continued to decline

From January to June 2021, the retail sales of clothing goods reached 487.46 billion yuan, an increase of 35.06% year on year; In June, the retail sales of clothing goods reached 81.75 billion yuan, down 0.51% month on month and increased by 11.71% year on year.

On the whole, even if 6.18 has a pull on the market, the seasonal rigid demand has gradually weakened. After a round of purchasing and replenishment, the market lacks of continuous pull, and the clothing retail is in order. The growth rate of clothing retail in a single month fell further, from 66% at the beginning of the year to 11%. The cumulative value of clothing retail decreased from 56% to 35% year on year.

3. Clothing export: the export continues to grow, which will bring risks to the epidemic situation

From January to July of 2021, clothing export reached 88.35 billion US dollars, with a year-on-year increase of 33.05%; In July, clothing exports reached US $16.575 billion, up 9.42% month on month and 8.21% year on year.

Overall, clothing exports continued to increase during the year, in line with the export volume before the trade war and epidemic year, and even exceeded. Among them, the main reason is that the global economy and trade continues to improve, but the epidemic situation in Southeast Asia continues to be high. As a country with the most complete supply and industrial chain, it can undertake overseas return orders, and the clothing export increment complements each other. Considering that China, which is in the forefront of epidemic prevention and control, still has scattered epidemic situation in China, and the overseas situation is still not optimistic. Before the epidemic situation is eliminated, there are still many variables in the long-term market.
