108 Cities In China Are Launching "Car Free Day" Activities At The Same Time.

From September 22nd to September 22nd, the first Chinese city bus week and Car Free Day event will be held at the same time.

Cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Hangzhou have declared their participation in the event and will formally sign the "no car day" undertaking.

As part of the commitment, leaders of the city government must take the lead in taking part in activities and take the lead in public pport, walking or cycling to and from work. Each promised city should implement at least one new practical green traffic measure, and effectively improve public pport.

The "World Car Free Day" campaign originated in France in 1998.

So far, more than 1000 cities in the world have launched "Car Free Day" activities.

According to Chou Baoxing, Vice Minister of construction, according to estimates, the day of "Car Free Day" can save 33 million litres of fuel, reduce emissions of harmful gases by about 3000 tons, and hundreds of people are free from traffic accidents.

It is hoped that the future citizens will travel by 20% to 50% through the present bus travel.
